Riding and Horsemanship Lessons

Open to riders aged 4 and up, of all abilities

At Healing Horses Kauai, our lessons go beyond riding. Along with learning to ride, our students explore various aspects of horsemanship, such as leading, grooming, tacking, herd dynamics, and daily horse care.

All lessons are supervised by Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) certified instructors, ensuring an enriching and safe learning experience.

We strive to pair riders of similar ages and abilities to optimize the lesson experience. Whether you’re a horse lover or joining with a group of friends, our lessons offer the perfect opportunity to explore this wonderful sport.

Semi-Private Lessons :

Wednesday : 11:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Friday : 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Saturday/Sunday : 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM

Important Details:

Before your first lesson, please complete the rider registration packet and renew it every January. You can also download the Participant Manual for more information. If you are participating in our therapeutic programs and have any medical precautions, please have your physician complete the Rider Physician Release form.

Pricing :

One Hour Lesson: $70
4-week package (1 hour per lesson): $260 ($65/lesson)
8-week package (1 hour per lesson): $480 ($60/lesson)

* Office/Insurance riders have a $5 co-pay.

Payment is due at the time of the lesson and can be made via VENMO, check, or cash. To pay via PayPal, please schedule your lesson first at 808-634-3896, then CLICK HERE to proceed with payment.

Cancellation/No-Show Policy :

A $20 fee will be applied for same-day cancellations or no-shows.

Rider Guidelines :

Wear long pants (jeans or leggings) and closed-toe shoes. Boots are preferred, but sneakers are acceptable.
Remain calm and respectful around the horses.
Bring sunscreen and a cold drink for after the session.
An ASTM-SEI certified helmet and helmet liner will be provided.

Who Can Participate ?

HHK is a PATH Intl. Member Center. We also offer lessons for adults who wish to experience the benefits of therapeutic riding. Our lessons for adults are priced the same as our regular riding sessions.

What to Expect During a Typical Session :

Our riders usually begin by grooming and tacking their horses, followed by mounting and riding under the guidance of an instructor. Lessons typically last one hour, with 40 to 45 minutes of riding time.

What We Teach :

We provide basic riding instruction using both English and Western saddles. Our focus is on creating a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all riders. Some of our more advanced students even help train our horses. SPONSOR A RIDER
